House Insurance & Subsidence

Just one final update, I spoke to Tesco to reconfirm their pricing to make sure it wasn't the wrong way around, they confirmed again building insurance was £188, so moved the contents elsewhere without affecting the level of cover etc on the buildings part - save £198 by moving contents to Admiral and they gave me better cover too - reckon that's a good reason to celebrate, just before Christmas too

Thanks all for the help & constructive comments.

Problem with having contents and buildings separate is if you have a claim that affects both, you have 2 excesses to pay. Worse if it's an escape of water claim, as then you have 2 excess of £200+ each.0

True FutureGirl, however following that logic,
If I had to claim for Water escape/damage and I pay the first £200 excess anyway and as I saved £200 I've broken even.
Whilst it "could" happen it's still worth saving the money rather than paying an extra £200 on the chance it "might" happen.0
