Options
Can't seem to find the answer, can I pay for myself and 16 year old son? 2 separate payments, would that work?Don't have a Oyster card unfortunately.

Assuming you don't live in a London Borough (if you did your son could apply for 16+ Zip Oyster)...

    - A 16 year old pays full fare

    - You need one contactless card per person
(i.e. in your case 2 contactless cards. Could be either debit or credit cards)

Make sure you use the same 2 cards for all journeys - then the daily cap of £4.40 will automatically kick in.

Strictly speaking, your son shouldn't really use one of your contactless cards - but I very much doubt anyone would challenge you or him.

Last time I tried, the very few old Heritage Routemasters where you pay the conductor didn't accept contactless cards, but all the others do. Including Boris's new Routemasters.

Thanks for that, think I will just buy 2 day ticket for £5 each, seems easier:o

Two people travelling, then you need two contactless cards - one each.
It really is as simple as that.
