B&M and "charity"

At checkout earlier this week I was invited to buy a box of maltesers for £1 which would subsequently be donated to a childrens charity. The way it was worded I thought I was getting the maltesers and £1 was being donated to charity. However, the member of staff put the maltesers under the counter and told me they were going to charity!

I've taken this up with B&M Head Office and they confirm only the maltesers go to schools and charities!

I'm not fussed about the maltesers, but it occurs to me that B&M buy the maltesers for, say, 40p, sell them to me for £1, give the maltesers to charity but pocket the difference as profit. I wish I had just given £1 to charity!
Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.
