Thank you once again for choosing Avro as your energy supplier.

We are writing to inform you that we are raising our prices in all UK areas.

We have maintained prices for as long as possible and are one of the last suppliers to do so, however due to rising wholesale costs of Electricity, Gas and increases in several industry infrastructure costs we can no longer hold off the increase.

Your Simple and Save Tariff remains the UK’s Cheapest Variable Energy Tariff*

The affect on an average user across the UK is £2.21 per week**

Call Us on 0800 680 0795 if you wish to fix your prices for 12 months. We have a very competitive fixed tariff available to new and existing customers Your Direct Debit will remain the same unless you receive further notification in the next couple of weeks.

The price changes will take affect from the 1st January 2017. This is in accordance with the 30 days’ notice as required by regulator OFGEM.

  • My Simple And Save tariff has been £0.10125/kWh + 15p/day standing charge and will rise to £0.13/kWh + 16p/day, all ex VAT. I make that a 28% increase on the cost of electricity, seems a bit high.

It's about time their marketing team had a chat with their brokers:

Taking advantage of falling energy prices we’re hoping to save thousands of you lots of money through our low rates for electricity and gas and we are proud to offer this to our customers.

Hi - welcome to the forum. The bad news is that the 'cooling off' period is only 14 days from application to switch. The good news is that your fixed tariff is fixed for the duration of your contract. That said, the more energy that you use, the more you will pay.
