So I signed up to both the MSE credit club and Experian free service in the hope one would give me my full credit report.
No success there, but I was a little confused to see experian give me a score of 954 while MSE gave me 869. I thought they were suppose to be the same, why are they so different?

The scores is based on a snapshot assessment of your credit file.
Prehaps the direction of the wind changed between the two you see were created.0 -
The credit files you obtain from MSE Credit Club, Noddle, Clearscore are only updated monthly.
I find there is often a difference between my Experian score obtained free via Barclaycard and the Experian score obtained via MSE Credit Club depending on when they were last updated.
Concentrate on checking your credit history rather than worrying about what score you are given.0 -

As stated above, they are updated monthly so look at the dates they were produced. Other than that both Experian Creditmatcher and MSE Credit Club are just a means of selling you products for which they get a commission. All you need to decide now is whether you are only being offered products for which they get a commission or are they searching for products over the whole market?0 -
Hi, as others have said if the scores are generated on different days of the month then there is a chance that the data has changed since so the score may be different.
Alternatively if you have different address information in on your profiles then this may cause the score to be different.
The score will generate based on the information in your name at the addresses entered. Make sure they both have the same address history entered and the scores would be the same (if generated on the same date).

I am an official company representative of Experian. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"

I'm very suspicious about Experian.
My score on Experian (where they charge to keep monitoring) is 363.
On MSE it is 865.
Both are the same address history and I check my Experian score every day as I am getting a mortgage next year and it has NEVER been 865.
The whole score thing is a big con and should be against the law.0 -
Hi Greyroofer, we would not expect the MSE Credit Club and Credit Matcher scores to be so different particularly if the same name and addresses have been used in the applications.
We can get your Credit Matcher score checked for you to make sure all of your information is being retrieved correctly. Please email your details (name, DOB and address) to us at uksocialsupport@Experian.com and we can take a look at this for you.

So how different can they be, to still be within normal variation?
My MSE is 10% higher than CE, produced with an earlier date, but the lower later produced CE number was "up on the previous month"0 -

Just dont read too much into the scores, why should it be against the law when no 1 can see the score but you.0
