What you doing with your Portman windfall?

I sticking £100 in another building society, spending £60.

Then I am going to close the Portman account down as I am already a Nationwide member.

What's everyone else doing.

Waiting for Nationwide to announce it is merging with another tiddler like Portman - leading to the next 'biggest ever merger' of two building societies in which I won't be asked to vote and won't receive a cheque and won't be able to visit any of the new branches because they are too probably far away (But hope that I am already a member of that tiddler-society first!)
.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam
  • not nearly as much as i did with all my previous merger/conversion payouts.
  • Putting it in my Cash ISA as part of my yearly allowance .

  • I got lucky. Ours is enough (£2,720) to pay for next year's summer family holiday :). Almost, but not quite, like the "good old days" of 1997.

I appreciate that it doesn't feel like that to others.
  • Not bad since its capped at £800 post tax per person.

Hope you have a good holiday, US could be good if the dollar stays weak.
