Have I covered everything?

I am executor for my mother. Very simple estate. bless her, no debts, no bequests, no - well, most things. Everything has been left to my father, the bank has seen all the papers needed to release the funds to him, so I do not need to apply for probate. Well below the inheritance tax threshold.
Is that it? Am I missing anything? We have sent back her Blue Badge, I just can't think of anything else, I would hate to find out in the months to come I should have done something else now. There is plenty of information about how to deal with tricky situations, but not so much for the not-so-tricky!
I would just like to know I have ticked all the boxes.
TIA

Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.

Contact DWP if she was claiming a state pension (this may have been done via the 'tell us once' service when registering the death). Also HMRC, any private pension providers and life insurance policy companies0

State pension - told them once
HMRC - have confirmed no income tax to pay
No other pension or insurance.
I read somewhere you might have to declare IHT even if it's not going to be paid? Or do you, if it's not going through probate?Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.0 -

Probate is not required for property where there is a surviving owner(s), joint or TIC.0 -

Thanks getmore4less you've saved us a couple of hundred ££ & the bother of completing probate paperwork. MiL has died & house owned as joint tenants with FiL, we misinterpreted the .gov.uk site regarding this if property was involved & thought it might have to be applied for - seems not.
TiC, joint bank a/c & Will leaving everything to FiL.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0
