Could anyone advise me on a request from my solicitor please.
I have been asked to provide "consent to the extension that you completed in 2012 and this is in addition to the planning and building regulation approval that you have received from the council".
I already have the planning permission paperwork and thought that "consent" was a different form, probably the way i read it
anyway i requested the consent form the council and they have emailed me the planning permission i already have.
Just to save time do you think the planning permission form is the same as a consent form please.

planning consent / planning permission = same thing. you're covered on that front. its a peice of paper that says the council grants you planning permission for your rear extension.0

I suspect they mean consent from someone else eg a freeholder. Best ask them to explain what they mean by their unhelpfully vague request.0

There may be a Covenant within your property Deeds that requires you to obtain permission (or consent) to develop (e.g. extend) your property from someone (examples are the original builders, original land owners etc.,.). Check your paperwork from the original purchase, you may have a copy of the Deeds and Covenants?
If you have failed to do before doing the work so you could ask for retrospective consent... if you can trace who will give such consent (sometimes the names change and/or people die).
That consent is different from Planning and Building Regs... (even if the Council is the one who needs to give consent).0 -
do you have a completion certificate from building control too? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

It seems like you're quoting the second half of a sentence. The key may be in the first half of the sentence or in the previous few sentences.
As others say, it sounds like somebody else needed to give consent for your extension - not just the Planning Dept and Building Control.0 -
Thanks for this it all makes sense now! I have started another thread accordingly so the title reflects the problem. It seems like you're quoting the second half of a sentence. The key may be in the first half of the sentence or in the previous few sentences.
