Dumb eBayers

I'm getting so sick of eBay, I wonder why I keep selling there but when it works, it's so easy.
I just had another dumb eBayer who's forced me to accept a return and left me negative feedback because they claim a dress had stretched elastic in it. For the first time, I let the case run - normally I ring eBay and they've always sided with me. The buyer was completely unreasonable and I had to report them because they threatened to damage or dispose of the item instead of returning it to me. It wasn't returned in its original packaging.
I submitted 2 lots of independent evidence from other sellers selling the same dress to back up my statement that this dress doesn't have elastic in it anywhere. eBay still sided with the buyer. Now I've got the damn thing back, I've unpicked it to prove there's no elastic in sight just your standard seam binding which you'd expect on a dress of such flimsy material or it would hold its shape! What are my chances of eBay accepting my appeal with this photographic evidence on top? Will I get my 100% feedback rating restored? I'm currently about £6 out of pocket on postage alone.

I doubt it very much. I would just leave a factual response to the feedback, block the buyer and move on with your life. Ebay do not have the time, resources or will to investigate every dispute in great detail so I doubt you'd get much more than a standard response.0

Your chances of ebay accepting your appeal = zero OR LESS...
Its one of the risks of ebay etc and just chalk it upto experience and move on.
Your issue was arguing with the buyer. You were onto a loser right there.
You should have apologised and told them to open a case and accept the return.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Never, I have done nothing wrong. Besides, eBay have always sided with me in every previous case - 2 or 3 in the last 3 years. I had no reason not to expect the same, especially as I had proof (which was more than I had in previous cases!)
We will never get our voices heard as sellers if we bow to all the scammers and liars. They will get their karma.Minimalist

When you say " they threatened to damage or dispose of the item ", basically wasn't that one of those" this is crap I'm going to chuck it in the bin" type responses?
I once had a buyer who complained the item looked white in the photo, even though I'd described it as blue ,they picked it up from me too, and then told me by message they were going to use it to clean the floor with. It was a similar situation , Inwhich i could twist it slightly and say they threatened to damage it rather than return it.0
