NPOWER - offer given then taken away!
We rang NPOWER on Tuesday to ask about cheaper tariffs. They offered us an online fixed price tariff. We rang back first thing Thursday morning (less than 48 hours) to switch.
They told us that the offer ran out yesterday! So we can't have the offer they offered us.
We've been with them for decades. Makes no difference. I asked if I could speak to someone about it. He said no. I said that they didn't tell us about the time limit. He agreed, but the refusal stands.
So anyone thinking of switching, or accepting offers, be warned. They don't warn you of time limits and they don't have to honour the offer.
Choose your provider with care. Loyalty and customer care is a thing of the past.

All energy suppliers work in exactly the same way. - tariffs come and go I'm afraid to say. I switched three weeks ago. The tariff was withdrawn the following day. The CS team will not have known that the tariff was going to be withdrawn. These decisions are made at a much higher level in the supplier hierarchy. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I sort of get your loyalty point, but unfortunately you are a very small fish in a very big pond. You've probably seen in the news that energy costs are going up, fast. A supplier went out of business last week. Any deals are not going to hang around, and the price trajectory is one way.
I'm more surprised that you've been with npower for years!!0 -
