iPad 4 expansion needed

We have a 16gb iPad which, amongst other things, we use when travelling for watching films and storing pictures. Cloud storage is not an option.
I'm looking at options to expand the memory and by doing so have the ability to move picture and video files from external storage to iPad and vice versa.
I've looked at the iBridge; has anybody got any other suggestions?

Unfortunately for you iPads are not designed to work with external storage in the way you would like.0

Hi there, I was looking for something to serve a similar purpose for my 16GB iPad and got the iBridge. I'm very pleased with it - just used it to watch films on a recent 17 hr flight and it worked perfectly. Only drawback is that it uses the lightening port which means you cannot charge the iPad at the same time.0

Use an SD card and an the appropriate connector kit is a solution for films but not backing up photos.
You will need to do some research on how to do this correctly, it's not as simple as plug and play. It's one way only as well. SD Card to iPad. This article is a good start: http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20110314054357575
Basically you load your films onto the SD card making sure that the file type is compatible, the directory structure is readable and the filename is exactly in the correct format for the iPad. You should then be able to import them onto the iPad whilst you are away.0 -

Errrrm not sure I get your point?
They want to expand the storage available. They carry a pre-loaded SD card and connector with them. They decide to watch a film. They import it onto the iPad, watch and delete. They don't need to import the whole card at once.
If they have so little storage available that they can't do this then it wasn't said in the OP.0 -
£29 ish for a move in then delete then import next oneErrrrm not sure I get your point?

hmmm the device I suggested was 25 ish and uses sd cards or USB sticks, it does not use the port on the iPad and they can keep both devices plugged in to eliminate the power drain. It also allows two way copying of data of not just pictures/videos.
How many hd videos can you store/import on a 16GB ipad ?4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Aint no sunshine ☀️ Octopus gas fixed dec 24 @ 5.74 tracker again+ Octopus Intelligent Flux leccy0 -

It's not a competition between us. I would quit with the childish Errrrrm and Hmmmmmm's.0 -
Thanks for all your help. I went for an iXpand in the end as I think this will be the easiest way for the OH to use the memory expansion.
Unfortunately, it isn't recognised by my PC or Apple products.
Hopefully, it's just a duff one which I'll change this afternoon for one which works, I hope.0
