    It's addicitive obay!!

I want to get my interest down to £400ish/month so when I come to remortgage it'll be lots cheaper! :)

it'll take me £6000 to get to around £400 for the interest.

Which means I am currently £5699.26 short, currently.

Great that you have a goal, now to find a way to achieve it. What's your plan to find your £5699.26 shortfall?
    Total Mortgage OP £61,000
    Outstanding Mortgage £27,971
    Emergency Fund £62,100
I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>

Going to work on the company a bit harder, already been a really strong month with a lot more sales then normal, should hopefully help as I am featured on the 19th of December in a massive online forum. Hopefully that'll drive some more sales so I can get there faster!

Also; got my wife's Christmas present today, she wanted Ugg boots, I missed the blackfriday deal as they was only £99 i think, ended up paying £150 but she's worth it... every penny...

Could've put the money to the mortgage, but we have to set some boundaries!

In other news, nearly had a car crash today, some idiot was over taking on a corner..

Yes little goals certainly do. £150k mark is a good target. Then £125k.
I have just managed to get under £100k myself and feel great. Next goal is the £75k for me :)

Wow! Yes, thats fantastic! How long did it take you to get under 100k?

So, bit of an unsetting day, have to get half the roof re-felted as it's letting water run down the house. Need some new tiles that are for ventilation.

That's £1,000 gone... just to get that redone :(

Anyhow, it's the dream house better make it water tight...

So another overpayment of £50 gone to the mortgage anyways from todays takings.

That brings me up to £350.74 in total for December.

    Hi there

Freehold and a garage were my two requirements for the house that I bought. The house has problems, but not having a leasehold, and an evil lease owner makes it more than worth it.

It took 5 years but the first 2 years we didn't really get going on over payments (really regret not starting sooner) and the next year we had our son, so I was on mat leave for a year so OP's were as and when, often small. It was only in the last 2 years we have really made a dent, paying the maximum allowed each month.

Ouch for £1k on the roof. As long as its the dream house you will be spending the majority of your time there, so its all worth it :)

Everyone's got there pace, it's not bad man! We're thinking about extension although I told my wife it's best if we do it after we remortgage a second time (so I can pay down the mortgage faster I suppose?)

My little man is 3 years old, little tropper, he had a hard time settling in here for the first week because we was up and decorating, no worries now as his fully settled and loving life again! :)

Just working out my stats to keep my self motivated! :)

When I started the mortgage I had a LTV of 85.17%, with my overpayment of £350.74 so far this month I now own an extra 0.29% in my house, my LTV is now 84.88%, so addictive! :) - I am still pretty amazed on how much small overpayments can take into effect on getting the mortgage debt down.

I have effectively, paid £1509.77 towards the mortgage this month, which includes the £1209.03 payment that I had to pay at the beginning of the month.

I am currently paying £20.09 per day in interest, of which I am hoping to get down to £15/day (aprox)

I am left with £151,089.23 to pay - I'll update my signature in January! :)

If I make my target of £6,000 this year I will effectively own 80% of my house.
