Only this last few days have i noticed that in a list of unread emails in my outlook account 3/4 have been opened or read. I have second less used hotmail account that is normal, a gmail account which is rarely used and is fine.
It is only happening on my main outlook account. My husband has access to this account on his iphone and i accused him of reading my messages but he said he isnt. But not all messages are read, odd ones stay un read. I go out and my wifi is off, then return home to find 30 + messages that i havent read but 25 of them are opened.
I changed my password. But it is still happening.
I have tried to search the web, but dont understand why this has only started to happen these last few days.

Maybe it's the start of the new snoopers charter.

Get one of your friends to send an email about meeting up for sex in a hotel that night and you will find out if your hubby is a liar.
...and maybe get a divorce0 -
Also its very easy for someone to read an email and then mark it 'unread' again0

When using Outlook, if you have the Reading Pane enabled, the default setting is to mark emails as read as soon as they've appeared in the Reading Pane. This means even if you're just arrow keying up and down your message list, emails will be marked as read.0

If you've changed the password and didn't give the new password to your husband then clearly it's not him doing it - if you did give it to him then that's not ruled out, and it might be a good idea to change it again and temporarily prevent him accessing them to see if it still happens.0

OP says Outlook, but doesn't say whether they mean Outlook the programme or Outlook the email service. (I'm guessing the latter).0

A perennial source of confusion indeed. My earlier comment related specifically to Outlook the programme, although I just checked my outlook.com and the same seems to apply.
In Outlook.com go to Options / Mark as read and choose "Don't automatically mark items as read".
In Outlook the programme it's broadly the same, though from memory the options are a bit more hidden away.0 -
Thanks for the advice. I will have a look at the desktop verson of outlook.
It is happening across all my devices, ipad, and android phone, as well as desktop version on my laptop. It just seemed strange that it had only just started happening this week. Hubby has always been able to read my emails as i can read his on the ipad. All our accounts are on the ipad as its the family ipad. He has a yahoo account tho so dont think it is affecting him.0 -
I have changed it to mark as read when displayed for 5 seconds that way you cant just scroll thro the display. I will see what that does0
