When will Amazon release their app for the AppleTV

So, I got this AppleTV thing about a year ago, thinking it would give me access to some things to look at.
It's got Netflix and NowTV, which I've watched a bit.
But I'd really like to get Amazon on there too.
However, Apple and Amazon seem to be having some sort of format wars and so Amazon haven't released their app for the AppleTV.
Now I know it's available for the iPhone and iPad, but it seems convoluted to receive on that and then redirect it via AirPlay to the AppleTV to watch.
As it stands, I hardly ever use the AppleTV and I can't watch Amazon.
I don't want to buy another device.

Probably never, Apple would ask for a share of the subscription revenue (30% rings a bell) which Amazon would never go for.0

Does that apply to the app on the iPhone & iPad too (where the app is available)?0 -
According to this article http://www.macrumors.com/2016/06/08/google-85-15-subscription-revenue-split-android/ it's only if an app offers subscription sign-up. So this probably doesn't affect Amazon who would almost certainly only allow Prime subscription via their main website.0
