Parking in a single yellow after 7PM

Hi there I just wanted to find out if I have grounds for an appeal but can't seem to find any clear answer.
I parked on a single yellow line at around half 7 (No drop kerb) and I was given a ticket the reason being is that all the bays have a permit until 9PM however the stretch where the yellow line is there isn't any signs indicating that but where there are bays there's signs saying the permitted hours to park.
So I got a ticket for parking on a single yellow after 7 there was no sign on the single yellow saying I can't park after 7PM. But the normal bays are all permit.
Do I have any grounds to contest this or am I in the wrong?

Probably, but this isn't the place to ask I'm afraid. This forum is for dealing with "parking tickets" issued by private firms rather than actual Council-issued ones (the speech marks are important!)
You'll be better off trying PePiPoo, where they have great success in appealing these. You'll need an email address (not a hotmail one) to register, and they will help you there.
Good luck!0 -

Yes, please tell us this.
Yellow line enforcement hours are nothing to do with the bay operating hours, ever. They are unconnected. So this makes no odds as they don't need a sign at the line if it's in a CPZ:So I got a ticket for parking on a single yellow after 7 there was no sign on the single yellow saying I can't park after 7PM. You can check the CPZ maps and operating hours on the Council website. You will no doubt find that road there. They needed to have signs at every entrance to the edge of the CPZ, that's all. Could be two or three roads away where you drove past a sign - find a boundary entrance with no CPZ signage (or badly obscured) and you have an appeal point.
Don't ask what a CPZ is. A CPZ relates to the yellow lines only within an area. Google is a click away!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
