Land Registry delay

I sold my old house earlier in the year, the sale completed six months ago. However, the Land Registry records have not been updated, and the most recent sale recorded is the one to me some 15 years previously.
In some ways I think this isn't my problem, and that if anyone should be chasing it up, it's the people who bought it. Just wondered whether this was unusual and whether there could be any potential consequences if the sale never does get recorded.

Land Registry has a huge backlog at the moment, it's probably still just waiting to be processed.0

Where are you looking?
If you are looking at the Land Registry website (not a commercial site pretending to be the LR!), and have actually downloaded the Title (£3) and found youself named as the registered owner, then .... you're quids in!
Put it on the market and sell quick before your buyers spot it.
6 months is a long time for a LR backlog. Either
* the buyer's solicitor never submitted the transfer to the LT, or
* there is some complication in the property's Title.
I assume it was not a 1st registration since you say your own purchase is recorded.0
