nationwide PPi claim

hi all, new to all this, so be gentle !!!

i used a company to claim PPi last year, they confirmed Nationwide owed me money, i then had a form off Nationwide asking similar questions to what id been asked before, they then wrote back saying that i had a 2 week cooling off period when i took the loan out, so they dont in fact owe me any money, they went on to say that if i wanted to query the decision, i had 6 weeks to raise it with the financial ombudsman.
since then, ive chatted to a couple of friends, who say thats a standard thing the banks do, and if id of kept on, they would of paid out..... my question is, can i still chase Nationwide, as they havent exactly been honest with me ....or is it just flogging a dead horse now ?

many thanks

clive :)

That was you being scammed by the claims company. Until Nationwide write to you telling you the outcome, no-one knows what their decision will be.

You mean 6 months to refer it to the FOS.

Your friends are not correct. Whilst you can go back and argue the point if you have further information or evidence available and they may reconsider on that new info, banks do not routinely reject and then pay out just because you repeat the same arguments.
my question is, can i still chase Nationwide, as they havent exactly been honest with me .

No. You are timebarred. You had 6 months to appeal their decision.
