Help - went over credit limit & interest free offer over

Hi
I have a credit card with interest free for 2 years but unfortunately I went over the limit by £15 in last July & I didn't notice that up to got card statement showing interest charged. interest charged from August to Nov. reach £475. I talked to the bank & they said the interest free offer was gone because I went over the limit & they can return the offer but not the interest charged from August.
Can I complain to the bank as it's not logic to pay £475 for just£15 over the limit which I paid £12 over limit fee.
any one help me please for how to write the complain.
Regards

You might have had more luck if you had been checking your statements and noticed it earlier.
However, the reinstatement of the offer is a very good result - I'm surprised you got that. You can complain again if you want, but I doubt you will get anywhere.
Make sure you monitor your spending closely to make sure it doesn't happen again - you won't get it reinstated a second time.0 -
Hello. It is great that you are able to return to interest free for your credit card debt. Once I went over my credit limit. I phoned up immediately and said sorry. They said would I like to apply for a higher credit limit. I said yes please. I was successful at getting a slightly higher interest rate. I paid off that debt. It was in my days of buying long haul flights. It pays to check your finances at least once a month. On another credit card from the past which I also don't have anymore I was paying the debt off. Checking my finances I noticed two purchases which I hadn't carried out. I phoned the credit card company. It turned out was that is was fraud. If I hadn't been looking at my finances then I wouldn't have noticed that one.0

Complain about what? You're own stupidity?
yeah go right ahead and then wait to see how helpful they are the next time you mess up.

I'm very suprised they offered to re-instate the 0%, good show!
I've never understood how people end up breaching the terms of their 0% cards. Once you have it set up, simply set up a S/O or DD to pay it, and then stop using the card (put it away in a drawer or something). Then set a calendar alert for when the offer ends.
Personally, I have about £21k stoozed over 5 credit cards. I keep a spreadsheet of the payments and balances, and how many there are left to go.0 -

You seem to be stuck in the past, taking responsibility for managing your finances, I've heard it all now.
Join the modern world and spend willy-nilly, never check statements, make ad-hoc payments when you can be bothered and when it all goes wrong....find someone else to blame.0 -
It would normally be reccomended to not continue to use a card that has a 0% offer at all, unless this an ongoing purchases as 0% offer
If not ou are likely to be paying interest from the date of purchase so doesn't make sense to use it.0
