PCN now at Wright Hassle, help!

Hi

I'm looking for a bit of advice as I've had a look through a lot of threads but nothing to really help me.

On 8th April 2015 I received a PCN from Civil Enforcement Ltd at the place where I work. You have to punch in your registration and you get free parking. Staff are put on a list of exempt cars and don't have to put in their code, however I never submitted my plate numbers so they were never on the system.

When I received this PCN I immediately told my manager and he told me that it'll be sorted, and silly old me believed him and thought that was that.

Roll on a year, 14th April 2016 and I get a notice again from Civil Enforcement Ltd about how the charge is still outstanding and that I will have to pay £40 on top of the original charge. I questioned it with my boss and he told me to contact them. So I tried calling the number but could not speak to a human being at all. I then kinda just left the issue because I have a problem with dealing with issues like this (I 'm the kind of person to just leave things like this, it's a stupid trait I know). Since then I actually can't find either one of these letters from CIvil Enforcement Ltd.

Last month, 21st October, I received the ZZPS letter that I've read about, demanding payment of £200 or it will be passed on to the solicitors. At this point I decide to actually do something about it. I call ZZPS and actually speak to a human and they recommend to send a letter to Civil to initiate contact and they put my case on hold for 10 days.

So I send a letter, recorded delivery. I wait, and wait. Even to this day I have had no reply. None. Now, 21st November I have received a letter from Wright Hassle demanding payment of £236.00 or they will "pass the matter over to their Litigation Department. This may mean they will look to obtain a County Court Judgement."

So here I am now, just really looking for help on what to do next. Granted I haven't dealt with this in the best way, but any help would be vastly appreciated.

  • At this stage, not a great deal you can do I'm afraid.

Write back to ZZPS and WH, noting that the debt is disputed and that you had understood this issue had been sorted a year ago.

Then go and pester your manager about it again, and ask why it wasn't sorted out. Insist that the company instructs their parking agent to cancel the charge and not pursue it any further. Keep hassling them until it happens.

From then on, all you can do is wait and see if an MCOL from Northampton actually turns up.

  • Just another point, everything that they're sending via post is going to my old address of 2 years ago. So they still haven't updated my details, despite me sending a letter.
  • Emailed them before the weekend to get some kind of contact. Had a reply:

    Dear ******Me*******,

We thank you for your recent email.

As we take the confidentiality of accounts very seriously we ask you to answer a few security questions before we can proceed with your query through email.

    Please can you confirm:

I have replied to this on Thursday with what he has asked, stating both my current address and old address (when the ticket was given), yet I still haven't had a reply.

Is this a common thing for them to contact you?

Yes that sounds OK, they've not asked you anything about who was driving!
