Insurance and Small Claims Court
Options
Hi
About 6 months ago my wife was driving on a car park when somebody reversed out of a space and hit her car on the passenger door causing about £900 damage. The 3rd party denied liability and there were no witnesses. Our insurance company paid for the repairs and then claimed against the 3rd parties insurance to recover the cost of repair and my excess.
The 3rd parties insurance company settled the claim "without prejudice" and reimbursed my insurance company their costs and I received a cheque to cover the my excess. Our insurance company said they now consider it a "non-fault accident"
However we have now received a letter from the 3rd party saying that he is making a claim against my wife in the small claims court to recover his costs.
Not sure what I should do now. Do I just send everything to my insurance and let them deal with it and could this affect my no claims.
Thanks
Mark

Agreed. Even if there was a better idea, which there isn't, you're obliged to do that by your policy conditions.0 -
Just send it all to your insurers and keep us posted on progress.0
