Cant get a refund?

I am having trouble with two items I bought on Ebay.
One was a straight forward thing that looked completely different from the pictures So I sent it back, with tracking information and they received it last Tuesday (have POD)
The other item was something needed for children in need which arrived late, so I sent it back, I didn't even open it.

Any ideas what I do now? Just wait it out? Its been a week already.

Nowhere near enough information in your post.

You say you sent them back, was this just a case of re-posting the packages or have you contacted the sellers first? Have you raised cases on eBay to return the goods and have the sellers accepted the returns?
  • Yes, I told the seller. Sent back in original packaging, 1st class recorded. I can see that both items have been signed for on the 22nd November.
I have gone through the official Ebay return system, but it just seems a bit of a slow process.

If you have official returns open and tracking shows delivery then ebay will expect seller to refund within a few days of the return.

Depending on how long you have already waited, a quick call to ebay might assist.

  • Just heard back from one of the sellers to say they have just "found" my return and will be proceeded 14 days from today, so 3 weeks in total?! Seems excessive to me.....Worth a call to Ebay still?

From memory the seller only has 8 days to raise the refund on an open return otherwise eBay forces them to.

Sellers can get grumpy at returns as it costs money that many can ill afford to lose if overheads are tight, but making you wait seems like a bad business move.

  • I agree it's a pain but I paid postage and we are talking a few £100 not £4.99. The company have feedback of 10k so I think they are doing ok. A quick chat to eBay last night confirms what you said and I should have my refund today.
