Car parking fine now County court please help!!

Hi there,
I'm hoping I can get some advice regarding a parking fine which has now gone to the county court....which I'm very worried about!
I believe the incident occurred whilst I popped to an ATM to draw some money out which I needed urgently and i parked in a space possibly where I shouldn't have. Literally for 2/3 mins!
The reason I say believe/ unsure because I have thrown away a private parking car Parking company letters as was told via google I didn't have to pay (Uk car parking management) it may be this above incident but unsure as the particulars of claim do not state where the offence occurred.
Should I now acknowledge the claim letter to give more time ? What's my defence have I any ?
I do not wish to have a CCJ and I can't afford these costs.
Hoping someone maybe able to help.
Many thanks
MR DOLLAR

that should give you the bones of what you've got to do now, if you've received an actual MCOL from Northampton.

    That's great above advice.
By my own admission I should never have thrown away private parking letters from UKCPM i now have no idea what the claim is for.
The particulars of claim do not state any great details.
What to do ? Is it too late to ask for evidence even through its going to court ?

I suspect any request will result in a stiff ignoring. However, there have been several recent cases thrown out of court because the particulars of claim were "incoherent."
Unfortunately the defendants have had to go to court to get their claims dismissed.

Follow the advice given. The link by Bargepole in the NEWBIES thread gives you a step by step guide. You can buy a very cheap guide to the court process from the Parking-Prankster's website for a few quid as well. On his blogspot you will also find a number of cases similar to yours where there is little or no information regarding what the claim is about.

Hopefully the more knowledgeable regulars will be along later to help.

EDIT your first post to remove from anyone's view, who might have been driving. DO THAT NOW.

You do know what it is for, it will be 'no permit or no authority' and as a registered keeper you should defend this and can use the POFA, again NOT saying who was driving.

After you have thoroughly read the advice in the NEWBIES thread under 'Small Claim?' then you will know to do the AoS online first.

Then search the forum for 'UKCPM defence' or 'Gladstones incoherent' if this is a Gladstones claim because we've seen off loads of those. A defence is about the legal aspects of why their charge is unrecoverable from you in law and that the 'particulars' are woefully inadequate. You are NOT talking about 'the story of what happened' or excuses nor whether you can afford the sum/your income/outgoings, (none of that - and you won't be filling in the claim form by hand anyway).

    Edit your first post NOW.

Then read the forum guidance, loads of posters before you have done this and no-one has even had a hearing after receiving a Gladstones claim (not from this forum so far, all have been discontinued I think). Lots of claims successfully defended by people in your shoes who started off with no clue. You can read the Parking Prankster's online blogs to see the results G's have when there is a hearing (most amusing - people have dined out on their victory story!).

No point trying to settle or pay. Even if you lost at a hearing it's no biggie (NO CCJ if you then paid at the end) and would be less than the £200+ that this is no doubt inflated to right now.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
