windows delivery advice

Help!

We are in the process of building an extension and placed an order a few months ago for our windows/doors and paid a deposit.

They were supposed to be delivered at the beginning of November and we were told that we would need to have a forklift to remove the windows from the truck but that this would be supplied by the delivery company, we were charged accordingly.

After a few weeks delay we were told that the windows would be delivered last Monday, but that a forklift wasn't available and that we would need to arrange offload ourselves... We weren't happy about this, but were given no option, just told that we would have to sort it.

In short the delivery didn't happen (due to bad weather) and the company have not given me a new delivery date. They just seem to blame the fact that the delivery company doesn't visit the area often and claim no responsibility. I have tried contacting people at various levels within the company to ask for a delivery date, but I just seem to get fobbed off. I'm becoming increasingly worried that there is something wrong with the order/company and don't know what to do.

How can you make a company deliver to you? Can I legitimately ask for a refund if they don't deliver on the basis that they haven't kept up their side of the contract?

Thanks for any advice!

If you have paid for a forklift delivery then i would insist on them sticking to the contract.

Use the missed delivery days as an excuse if you must, the strong helpers took time off work to help but cannot take more time off for another failed delivery.

You paid for goods and a service and you expect nothing less.
