Anyone ever replaced the D-rings on boots?

I have a great pair of boots, but the D-rings have all sort of 'rusted' (gone white actually), broken and are dropping off. Rest of the boot is fine.

I was wondering if anyone had ever replaced just the D-ring on a boot? Not the whole ring and eyelet and rivet thingy - just the D-shaped ring that goes through it.

I did look on the net before troubling all you good people, but there's very little about it tbh.

Not on boots but on other similar items. If they're welded, you'll obviously have to cut them to remove. If not, spread them apart with a couple of pairs of pliers.use same method to squeeze the new D rings after.
