Phillips Hue

Hi,

Could someone please advise me on Phillips Hue Lightbulbs. We have purchased Alexa and we want to upgrade our lights to Phillips Hue. I found a kit on Amazon which is two lights and the bridge but it is the round bridge which I believe is the old style?

Is there any reason why the "old" style bridge wouldn't work with Alexa?

Or is it worth buying one of the new kits that have the new bridge? I was going for the Argos £99 deal but no where near me has stock.

I have in total 7 phillips hue bulbs plus a echo dot. It is the old style hue bridge and it works fine - not sure what the difference is (scrap that Its to do with apple homekit)

I would aim to get the newer of the 2. Whilst the older one may work, the newer one will have the latest support and continue to receive firmware updates. It will also support more integrations with other systems
