Boiler Cover
Hi, not sure where to put this so hope I'm in the right place - if not mods can you please move.
I've an ageing boiler probably about 7-8 years old that had the circuit board replaced a couple of years ago and is working absolutely fine, but I'm now thinking about boiler cover.
Any do's and don'ts and recommended plans that people have would be greatly appreciated.

IMO you are better off putting the cost of boiler insurance into a savings account so that the money is there when you need it.
£10 a month to an insurance company comes out at £120 a year, over 5 years that's £600 that you would have paid but could be yours to put towards a new one or quite substantial repairs.
For a boiler that's 7-8 years old, they'll probably insist on an inspection and service which will set you back quite a bit and they usually have an age limit of around 10 years.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

Okay, thanks for that.0 -
The more decent brands have their own support teams.
I had good experiences with Potterton (BAXI) and Glowworm's people.
If you had a Ferroli, oh dear.0
