Buying tickets for foreign music concerts

Has anybody had any experience in buying music concerts for venues abroad.
Looking to buy gig tickets from the UK for bands that are playing in America.
Was wondering what is the best method to get hold of the tickets?
Have them posted (if possible) or collection from venue?

Generally you can buy online from ticket outlets just like anyone in the US, paying in US dollars with your UK credit/debit card. Often there's an option to either pick up the tickets at the box office or have e-tickets emailed to you. I've never bought tickets and had them posted internationally.
