Incompete ticket - grounds to appeal

Greetings all,
Received ticket as helping my mum to bank which took 90 minutes instead of 10 - I should have known really so accept my fault.
Got back to car 17mins after pay & display expired to find a really nasty warden taking a pic having stuck PCN to wscreen.
So got home & am writing a cheque however the payment slip for paying by post is missing from bottom of ticket so rather hoping to be as slippery as the warden & that this might give me an out
Any thoughts ?
Thanks as always

Is it a proper council ticket or a private company?
If the latter, hold off on paying or doing anything until you get a postal notice through. They have mandatory timescales they have to abide by, otherwise they can't get a penny off you.
Read the **NEWBIES** thread, specifically the part about windscreen tickets.0 -
Ok thanks - Council ticket - ill look at the thread now0

The NEWBIES FAQ sticky is not the thread you need to look at; it is not relevant to council tickets.
We major on private parking tickets here, so PePiPoo will be your best bet for council tickets. Register there (but please note that a hotmail address won't work) and post a new thread; here's your link:
http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?act=SF&s=&f=30
Have a read through some of the other threads there before you post your own to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate) as they need to see all the small print.
PePiPoo has an excellent success record in dealing with council tickets. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Follow the appeal process as stated on the PCN. Explain that you arrived just 17 minutes late and am very sorry. You could also point out that there was no payment slip which you imagine, renders the PCN incomplete BUT I would put it as politely as possible.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -
