I don't know - but I'd talk to motability. They are a registered charity and are going through this with a lot of people. They are providing a lot of help, including as I understand, a cash grant to help people buy a car. I'm sure they will have advice in place. The current insurer (Is it still Royal Sun Alliance?) may provide proof of no-claims which would be acceptable.
  • yes still royal sun alliance will give them a call if needed many thanks

Although you will have nil NCD, a local broker (not Swinton) should be able to get you an introductory discount to reflect you claim free driving history

A broker did this for me when, some years ago, insurance policy changed, making it desirable to have my own insurance, instead of being named on my husband's policy. He got me the equivalent of three years' no claim. ( I had a clear record for a number of years.)

I had to deal with RSA when a Motability driver drove into me, odd they can't provide someone with a NCB letter if they are covering the drivers (unless it works in some odd way?)

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

You don't get any NCB with motability insurance! (That's the OP's issue and reason for coming here.)

It's like driving a company car.

(You can get a letter stating your claim free history off them)

When husband went from motability to private car a few year's ago. we were told to go to More Than as it was a sister group. No NCB given but took into consideration how long we were claim free. This resulted in a lower quote than other insurer's.

I just mean it's a bit odd that it's backed by RSA who I claimed from, all their paperwork says the person is insured by RSA but that you wouldn't earn any NCB, not saying it's wrong
