Mine's been disconnected for about two years - with two different accounts. No letters yet.0

You are only required to stay connected during the first year since then you are under contract to have your box connected to a phone line. I NEVER had mine connected EVER for 3 years because the engineer couldn't get call back working. He get Sky to do a manual activation and nobody ever said anything.0

I had to keep mine connected for 1 year. As soon as it was up I removed the phone line. No probs.0

Thanks for replies!. Just found out about wireless telephone extension but have conflicting advice about whether it works with sky+ box. Anyone got one? (it's the One for All).Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.0

Thing to remember is, you can break the speed limit in your car and get away with it. But you're not supposed to. And if you're caught...

Similarly, if you breach the terms of your Sky contract...0 -
Blimey. I just moved into a flat that has a sky dish/cable and socket.
I've never seen/had sky ever before, so know nothing about it .... except I thought "just get a box and plug it in and you'll have sky"
Reading this thread it's scared the living daylights out of me about whether to bother at all.. sounds complex to get/run0 -
We've had our sky unplugged from the telephone socket for 7 years now and so far they haven't taken any action..0

Found a solution - it's an 'invisible' (transparent)telephone extension cable that you fix with double sided tape provided so no cable clips on show - it's brill! Just installed it on oak stained skirting board & you can't see it at all - you can also paint & wallpaper over it.

Hope this helps anyone else with the same problem. Sky+ & multiroom being installed in the morning!!:TStart by doing what's necessary, then what's possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.0
