iPad air2 internet connectivity issues

Strange problem that I've never experienced before; in settings the wifi symbol is showing as connected and there is a tick next to it as normal but not connected and no wifi symbol in top left.
Done the usual turn off and on again, forget network and reconnect etc. but nothing. My iPhone is absolutely fine as is my laptop therefore I'm thinking it is a hardware problem. Anyone experienced this? If so, what fix did you try and did it work? I'd rather not reset settings which will cause loss of passwords etc. It is very frustrating.

Which version of iOS are you running?
If you plug your iPad Air 2 into your desktop/laptop back it up, restore the device to factory settings and then restore from the latest backup you'd find any passwords are saved if you've got iCloud Keychain set up.It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Ios 10.1.1
I do have Keychain set up so I may give that a go. Was working last night and this morning so will monitor it. Just seems strange that it was fine on iphone but not ipad.
I do use a wifi extender so not sure if that makes a difference.0 -
Worked ok for a few days but now doing it again. No wifi last night and this morning. Thought I'd test it by grabbing a coffee and trying to connect in costa, worked instantly which makes me think it isn't a hardware fault (unless a connector is loose/partially damaged).
I really don't want to reset network settings and lose all passwords so am at a loss as to what to do. Not having the issue with any other devices at home.
Any idea how to else to troubleshoot?
PS: if i do network reset on one device will it wipe passwords from iPhone as well?0 -
I am not tech savvie at all & rely on this forum for much of my knowledge (such as it is) but yesterday a friend had a similar problem as you which she asked me to help her with!
She has an Android tablet and her internet is with Sky. I discovered that by pressing the button on the Sky box marked with opposing arrows and while the button is flashing, press the same symbol icon in settings on her tablet the wifi connection was restored.0 -

That'd be the WPS button you'd have pressed on the Sky router.
Unfortunately iDevices don't support such things for some reason. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -

How comfortable are you with accessing your router from your laptop and checking for devices connected in there?
If you reset Network Settings on your iPad this won't affect any of your settings on iPhone as the process is only completed on iPad.It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
