Euro car parks. Blue badge Parking ticket

HI, New here but need some advice on a PCN received from Euro car parks in a morrisons car park in October.
We parked in a disabled parking bay in Morrisons car park and displayed the blue badge in the usual way. The huge sign in front of the space said DISABLED BADGE HOLDERS PARKING. There was nothing else on the sign.
Some weeks later we received a parking Notice charge for illegal parking even though we used the blue badge.
We took a trip back a few weeks later and had a look around. Some way away from parking space was a sign that noted parking rules. This was a distance that you would not expect a disabled person to walk to let alone think they would have to.
Under the disabled parking in small writing it said
disabled blue badge holders only. Blue badge must be displayed in window. No concessions for disabled badge holders.
At this time I asked my daughter what she thought that meant and she said she didn't know but she guessed it meant you must display your blue badge to park in disabled bay.
So do we pay this notice or not. My feeling is that the signs were not clear or in an easily accessible place for a disable person.
Please help.
Thank you in advance

Which outlines the steps you need to take to se them off and as a disabled person is involved, a strong complaint to Morrisons is probably your first move.
Remember that the Blue Badge itself has no validity on private property - Its the Equality Act that matters here and that applies to all suitably disabled people, regardless of their having a bdge or not.

as a BB holder and someone with a disability under the EA2010 , I can never understand why people never think to complain to the shop , or retailer , or landowner when an injustice has taken place !!
their disabled bay signage appears to comply with the EA2010, yet their contractor does not
get onto their HEAD OFFICE and kick up a stink with DAVID POTTS , their CEO , asap (even if his "office" deal with it)
no you dont pay it !!! , they should be paying the BB holder for breaking their lawful rights , which is a minimum of £500 damages
and the RK appeals it as KEEPER (not driver) saying an occupant of the car owns and displayed a valid BB as per the signage and to cancel this charge forthwith , or a counter claim may be invoked
and the RK complains to DAVID POTTS office with a copy of the BB and copies or receipts or bank statements , mentioning the EA2010 which their contractor has broken on their behalf
pay ? pay ? as John McEnroe once said "you cannot be serious" !!0 -
1. Was there a PCN left on your windscreen?
2. Exactly how long after the event was the Notice to Keeper dated?
3. Is the car a mobility car registered to Motobility or a 3rd party?
4. Are there any photographs of the alleged parking contravention.
The other advice you have been given is good but based upon you getting off related to your disability. The reason for my questions is to see if there is another avenue concentrating on mistakes by the PPC.
Oh and last point, was this in Scotland or do you live in Scotland?0 -
Was it a pay and display car park perhaps and the driver didn't realised they had to pay? Or was there a time limit for free parking that the driver wasn't aware of?
No concession for disabled motorists could mean no free parking in a P & D car park (and why would anyone think there would be without first checking signage) or it could mean no extra time given for disabled motorists after the free period has ended.
It could also be that the driver just overstayed and this has nothing to do with disabled parking.
This is a civil matter so the word you are looking for is unlawful, not illegal.
No matter what, you should not pay this.
As others have said, what happened when you complained to the Morrison's manager? (Clue, don't bother with customer services, only deal with a manager.)I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

did the notice really say Illegal parking? which Morrisons was it, was it Morrisons own car park? From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0
