Replacing surround and mantelpiece on gas fire

I've already tried Googling and not got a conclusive answer so I hope you lovely folks have an idea:
The house came with a living flame gas fire, bronze trim and a hideous surround and mantel. I can live with the gas fire itself but I really want to swap out the surround and mantel for something a bit more neutral.
Am I able to do this without replacing the gas fire itself? Would I need to buy the mantel and surround and then get an engineer out to help fit it (disconnect and reconnect etc)?
The fire itself looks a bit like this: https://stanningleyfiresides.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Legend-Vantage-Gas-Fire-Brass.jpg
Just imagine it with a faux pink marble surround and dark brown varnished mantel.

Ive seen those type of fires screw into the marble at the sides with the trim held on by magnets, but also with a wire going to the back of the chimney to a screw eye and pulled tight. both type's would require the fire disconnecting and re connecting. Doing this with a gas fire will need a drop test at the meter with a manometer from a gas safe engineer, they would probably check the flue too, make sure fumes are going up chimney and no leaks.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years.
