Dear All,
Hope your all doing well.
I wondered if you could kindly leave me your advice if possible. I have soundproofed one wall in my bedroom which is linked to the neighbors bathroom. This wall is linked to the neighbors and no noise is transmitting through the soundproofed wall. This includes a sound barrier, mineral wool and acoustic plasterboard.
I also have the floor insulated up to 2 foot from the neighbors wall which prevented any flanking noise. My only problem is on an internal wall, which has two windows and a radiator, the noise from the neighbors pipework is carrying down the wall. This wall is a cavity wall with breezeblock, i did not expect to have any issues with flanking noise. I can hear footsteps and the neighbors shower through this wall.
I cannot afford to lose anymore space in my bedroom and soundproof this wall. It would also be a major job and i would have to get a plumber to re-plumb the radiator and the materials would need to be cut around the windows for instance. I kindly wondered on your thoughts of blown in Mineral Wool insulation into this cavity wall. Does anyone know if this would dampen the noise even slightly, as i know Mineral Wool is used by many soundproofing companies and it does have good acoustic properties.
If anyone could advise if this would work even to some degree i would be thankful. Further if anyone has any further solutions this would be appreciated. I cannot think of any other solutions, as i do not want to lose further space in the bedroom and even if i soundproof around the windows, flanking noise could still come through this wall and it would be extremly expensive.
Many thanks for all your help folks. Hope to hear from you soon. Take care.
Kindest Regards and Best Wishes,
Paul

An interesting post and you have given much thought to matters. Unfortunately I cannot picture your situation so it would need a sketch of your problem area. Even then there is no guarantee that any useful feedback will occur!
In general mineral wool is not good for sound proofing. Sound deadening requires mass and the product is obviously lacking here. I accept it can seal gaps where sound gets through, but even then there are better products if you can get to that sound transmission point.
Blown fibre is a specialist area, and you are moving into cavity wall insulation territory. Countless operators have gone out of business and the area is hugely tarnished. I doubt any would entertain your type of proposals.
If you are thinking of blowing material in a party wall this raises issues with the Party Wall Act.0
