Cancelled Mortgage Valuation

Hi wondered if someone had any advice.

I have excepted a offer on my property a couple of weeks ago, we both have solicitors , I am selling to a first time buyer on Friday I had a message from their valuation company from Halifax (Llyods) asking to arrange an appointment for a valuation I rang them back 10 minutes later and they advised that the case had been closed and I needed to get in touch with buyers mortgage adviser. I couldn't get hold of them before the weekend .Should I be worried ??

    No. Not yet.

They might simply have found a beter mortgage product with another lender. Better that they switch now than later.

My buyers switched 9 weeks into the process. Then discovered their solicitor was not on the new lender's panel, so had to find a new solicitor who started the conveyancing again from scratch.......

There could be a perfectly sensible explanation.

Ot they might have found another property. Who knows? You'll find out on Monday.

And expect at least 3 more panics before you get to Exchange!
  • Try to stay calm and give EA a ring on Monday...I really feel for you. I've been in similar situations and the lack of control is awful.

As G_M says...it could be nothing at all.
  • It's worse the fact my dream house is resting on it. Typical to happen on a Friday when it's a waiting game . Thank u for your reassurance.
