SIP Parking Manchester

Hello everyone,

I need a little help with some parking tickets. I parked within my partners building in the designated parking space for his flat whilst away on holiday and came back to find three parking tickets. I sent a recorded letter in writing to SIP explaining the error and heard nothing more from them.

I then received a letter to the owner of the vehicle claiming ticket payments. Again I sent a letter and an email. In both I included a copy of the tenancy agreement with parking spots from the letting agency.

I then received a solicitors letter stating I would be going to court. I contacted the solicitors with a recorded letter with a detailed list of events and politely stated I would not be paying and it would be a huge waste of their time and money. I gave them 21 days to reply. I got an email from the solicitors (gladstones) stating I had 7 days to send them a full tenancy agreement. My partner no longer lives there and this is a ball ache to sort out again.

I feel I have done everything asked and I'm pretty reasonable but they are just threatening me and it's boring with the constant nagging.

Any advice? It is so straightforward in my eyes that they are very wrong but it's like banging my head against a brick wall.

Thanks David

You're unlikely to persuade the PPC or Gladstones to back off at this stage, so prepare yourself for court papers to be issued. This will be for the small claims court, so no big deal.

Plenty of threads here and on PePiPoo at various stages, so do some research on 'Gladstones Court', 'SIP Gladstones' (and similar) to bring up some recent cases.

Despite the ball-ache, getting hold of that tenancy agreement will be a potential trump card at court.

For residential parking tickets, the tide is turning away from the PPCs. Have a read of this very comprehensive blog from the Parking Prankster which encapsulates the issues and the actions needed in residential parking ticket cases.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
