how do i play .cda files?

I have copied a few CD's onto my laptop, but cant get them to play. Any ideas?

    As far as i know you can't do it like that.

    .CDA files are the format for Audio CD's.

    http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/ CDex will 'rip' the audio cd's to mp3/wav

    They will paly then!

    .cda files are just "short cuts" to the actual track on a CD. If you look at the size of the .cda files you'll see they are about 44 bytes long. If you use the likes of a 'ripper' (as mentioned above) this will basically copy the track from your CD to your computer. You can also choose to have them in proper uncompressed format (known as .wav files) or compressed formats like .mp3 and .wma.

    Doh! I forgot about that, I had that on my old PC.....thanks!

    Nex0, i have musicmatch, real player, and windows media player but none of them are compatible

    Thats strange im running musicmatch jukebox version 10 and if I click open and look at the formats cda is listed.

    I only have version 8.2 so maybe thats why.... is there anyway I can get a free upgrade?

    Because only the CDA files are listed in windows dosn't means the music inn't on the CD. You need a cd player, windows has one in Strat menu- acessories- multimedia- cd player, but all the mentioned software will play audio CD's, try opening media player.
    that's is if you copied the cd to cd. If you just copied CDA files from windows then like what was said you just have a cd with shortcuts.
