Replacing PC with Laptop

Hi all. I've been surfing similar enquiries here but I think I need to ask a direct question.
Our PC is in need of replacing and we've decided not to have a big unit sat in the corner of a room.
Never had a laptop before, don't need anything special, we've found it useful having a DVD/cd writer, we manage iTunes and podcasts from it and occasionally watch a bit of iPlayer etc. I imagine we would want a reasonable screen size, 15''?
I'm thinking of getting a refurb, being careful with the cash at the moment. I'm looking to spend £100-200
Any advice?
