Should I give my cleaner a Christmas bonus when she is having a long holiday ?

wow .... a very straight forward question and people love to complicate things (employee, covering staff etc etc??:rotfl:).

For anyone who has had to deal with services in the home, if you find someone good, reliable and you like them, then a christmas bonus is a very small price to pay to keep them happy and is well deserved

I think if I do a little bit of cleaning each day we can manage until she returns and after all , we will end up with three weeks cleaning money in hand . I will be glad when she is back though :rotfl:

I'm certain you did the right thing. I worked as a cleaner for a while some time ago. I never minded anything except cleaning out the bath and toilet!


But a gesture like the one you made can go a very long way to making someone happy. Especially someone who has been (and will continue to be) very helpful to you around the house.


I'd love to be able to afford a cleaner but never feel resentful of those who can - everyone's circumstances and commitments are different.
