  • So I had saved up to the allotted day until the 16th but then extra xmas expenses came along and I have naughtily tapped into it. I get paid tomorrow so will fill my pot up for December and not touch it again! I need to get a sealed tin or something. Any suggestions of where to find one?

£ shop do some quite nice ones, or £ world if you have one of those, or just make a pot sealed with sellotape, a coffee jar, or a ice cream tub, or even a pringle tube, I have used a bottle before that just about fits coins in, and take a good shake to get out.

Not very MSE but you could also get a terrimundi pot and reuse it each year.

    Lots of options.

I bought 2017's Christmas cards today from a local shop that have already started their half price (same discount as I got 2016's at in January.)

There was 1 box left of my favourites - phew. Got 2 other boxes as well and paid £6 for the lot. Worked out at 10p a card.

    That is forward planning!!!

Just dont do what I do, and put them somewhere really safe and then cant find them next year, and you end up buying more.

This happens with me and wrapping paper, always get too much, as they normally 3 for 2 or something like that so end up with rolls of wrapping paper, that still have some left so I would put them somewhere safe and then cant find them again next christmas, or you like some new design, so buy that, so you end up with about six rolls of paper...

I do use the sales to pick up presents as I go, just need t remember where I stash them, I may just have to get an amazon box and put everything in there, for Christmas 2017, a present box, like the ones my mum had in her wardrobe for those presents for the surprise party you used to get invited too, and not know what to buy, so you used to look through the present box to see what was in there,

Now as i'm older I realise this box was full of presents that were bought for sisters/parents that were recycled lol...

I know for one my sister does this, I have been with her at my nieces party and she had two piles of presents, the ones to keep and the ones to sell online for funds to save for Disneyland Paris....

Someone normally buys new children's clothes and items New In Box,

anyway I regress, have a happy Christmas Kim_13
