Hi,
I am travelling to greece in oct (around19th) for some work. So I am also staying back to explore the place for 3-4 days. Can someone suggest me which islands to see, how is the transport system there? Maybe I could spend a day in athens and then spend the newxt 2 days relaxing on a island.....so which Island should I choose. Also, any comments about the weather in oct?

the weather in october is still very good and you can go swimming without a porblem. the closest island to athens would be Hydra or Spetses, but you can visit mykonos or santorini if you want to see the aegean islands, or cephalonia or zante or corfu if you want to see the ionian islands. on the other hand you can visit mainland greece, there is a fantastic place called zagorohoria, very close to ioannina..has a fantastic gorge and you can go rafting or walk around there....all the villages and houses are build by stones and it is a protected area (http://www.jannisgousgounis.net/zagorohoria.htm or http://www.about-ioannina.gr/Zagori_en/Zagori.htm or http://www.astoriatravel.gr/en/services/zagorohoria.htm)0
