Hello all
Can anyone help and advise ? I had a Time Finance Retail store card from B&Q who at the time were part of Kingfisher group. I understand that when they went into liquidation Santander bought the accounts and took over
Can I therefore claim missold ppi and has anyone recently been successful with Time Retail Finance?

As a small shareholder I can assure you that B & Q are still part of the Kingfisher group which is most certainly not in liquidation. They did own the electrical retail chain Comet which was spun off into a separate company and subsequently did go into liquidation.
Either way, why do you consider that a liquidation should constitute grounds for a mis-selling of PPI complaint?0 -
When did you take the card out. before 2005 is before regulation so they can just dismiss your claim out of hand.
What makes you think it was miss sold to you
To make a complaint you have to have something to prove your complaintmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Dear Safestored4
Thank you for your comments, apologies if I did not make my post clear, this was my first. I wanted to know if I can claim missold ppi by Time Retail Finance and Kingfisher Group now they no longer technically trade as Time Retail storecard as I have been told. This was added to an account I took out in B &Q which I was unaware that was added ?0 -
Hello
I will be honest after receiving so many PPI calls text messages and emails I made a claim direct with my bank and had a payment, I was very unclear on PPI before this and now realise that when I was younger I opened several store cards and PPI was simply added. At the time I had adequate cover from a private police alongside my mortgage covering redundancy sickness and critical care cover along side my employer sickness pay if I needed it and therefore I am claiming against PPI being added

It wouldnt be simply added, you would have been told to read the terms and conditions and you would have had t sign a declaration that you had read and understood those terms and conditions.
If you think you had adequate cover etc, etc.. etc why did you sign the declarationmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Hi McKneff
Possibly I may have signed this due to my own ignorance and not being advised correctly; it was a while ago when I was younger and not as aware as maybe I should have been, however, I do believe it was mis sold. My question was if the company no longer trades can a claim be placed and has anyone else been successful in doing so?0 -

Staff in shops like that did not "advise" in the financial sense
You still haven't said when it was taken out - after 2005 you should send your complaint to Santander. Pre-2005 you're out of luck as it's pre-regulation so can be rejected without FOS accessSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Trouble is, you need eidence of having paid it, which you don't ave, and as above, if it was before 2005 your cmplaint could be dismissed.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
