Bank statements

I have heard that lenders these days check affordability by looking through bank statements.
I have a DMP with payplan so each month a direct debit goes to them. I guess that's going to raise questions even though the debts are so old they don't show on my credit file anymore.
So - will a lender check all bank accounts or just main one? Should I open a separate one just for the DMP payment? I feel a bit devious doing that but I'm worried the payment might hinder the chance of a mortgage.

Do you intend not disclosing these debts on your application form?0

The payments can be entered as a commitment and all questions answered honestly and no bank statements requested by certain lenders.I am a mortgage broker.
