Tesco Bank accounts

Options
What's to stop anyone having more than the 2 account they say you can have? I have opened 4 with my other half but Tesco never asked for any proof she exists. What's to stop me opening some in false names to get the 3% interest?

....Tesco never asked for any proof she exists....

No bank will open a current account for someone who doesn't exist - unless you are a very clever fraudster. And if you are, what you doing asking for advice here?

Just because you didn't see them getting proof she exists doesn't mean they didn't....

[Clue: they check your credit file, whether you're on the electoral roll etc etc]

And btw if you've opened accounts in her name without her involvement you're already operating fraudulently

I might try this later. Think i'll try the name Caddy_Carazy. If that works I might go for a credit card and maybe a loan or two.:rotfl:

You can't even insure your house or car without somebody checking you out, you're not going to open any bank accounts without big brother and his mates watching you . . .

Earlier this month I did a few house insurance quotes and the past couple of days I've been doing some car insurance renewal quotes.

Just checked my Noddle account, and there's 19 new ID and credit checks showing on there . . .
including a search by First Utility. I'm already a dual fuel customer and only looked at their new broadband offering, but apparently they needed to do a credit check on me, just for looking . . .

I'm sure there'd be no problem opening dodgy bank accounts for someone who doesn't exist . . :rotfl:

I'd never use my real details for dummy insurance quotes, always use another name, same postcode but different house number etc

Not only does this reduce the number of credit searches but it stops quotes increasing as the number of searches you do adds up.

So your neighbours get all the junk mail from Saga etc? ;)
  • The best prices were the last ones I looked at, and I'm not worried how many credit searches show, in fact I don't think 'they' (the credit searchers) actually see that information.

Possibly, saga wouldn't be on the list though.

I think they might guess it's junk pretty quickly when addressed to mr. Qwerty asdf.
