Which white wines are sweet

I've been asked to buy sweet white wine for a Christmas present so could someone recommend something under £10 a bottle that I can buy from a supermarket.

Just search sweet wine on whatever supermarket you shop from.

i.e. Tesco comes up with a few, this one within your budget http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=255242081

    How sweet is sweet ?

There's ones that are really sweet like Sarah has linked to or there's Moscatel de Valencia which is really sweet like the Premiere Cotes De Bordeaux.

This is made from honey rather than grapes and would make an excellent, slightly different choice: http://www.waitrosecellar.com/english-wine/lyme-bay-traditional-mead

I searched for sweet wine before asking on here but what I didn't understand was places like asda and tesco have wine ratings of 1-9 but aldi have wine ratings of 1-5. Then when you go in store most wines don't have the number on the bottles so you don't know what to buy.

Ask an assistant or take a note with you of the ones which you've identified on the website as possible purchases.
