Internal Fire doors

Hi all,

I live in a block of flats on the 6th floor. It's a maisonette style flat over 2 storeys but on 4 levels.

When you come in you have bathroom and one bedroom (each have a door). You go up half a level and have another bedroom.

Up another level leads straight into the living room (no door) and from there another level up to the kitchen (again no doors). You can look into the living room from kitchen.

We want to replace the doors to both bedrooms and bathrooms and I wondered if they have to be fire doors?

They are on the first to levels and there are no doors further up (perhaps there used to be one coming into the living room but may have been removed by previous owner?)

The current doors have no markings to indicate if they are fire doors and also have no self closing thingies. I suspect they might be cause they feel quite solid and are 45mm thick.

Put it this way. If there were a fire and the worst happened, being on the sixth floor, would you want a fire door while you're waiting to be rescued?

There is no requirement for fire doors to self-close anymore.
