Thanks for posting. I eventually got an entry though (no idea how) and the phone number went through like this

(7**) ***-****

So for example if your phone number is 07872 123456 it would go through as:

(787) 212-3456

I was trying different ways like 44, +44 number with and without spaces etc. I think when I tried dropping the 0 and started keying my number 7872 etc it formulated like the example above.

I have reported it through sun help chat - they have escalated and told me to keep trying for next 48 hours as they don't always get notified when fixed. Solutions they offered didnt work for me but may work for some - 1: enter as +44********* 2: clear history and cache

An extract from the source shows the phone number must be a national US format number - possibly with a real US area code.

The Sun & The Times have form for doing this.

(212) 416-3400 will work OK - it's the News International HQ in New York.

When they have done it before they have altered the form after a couple of days.
