PCN Recieved - Parking at work

Hi All,

I'm a new poster here and hopefully someone will be able to give some advice.

My wife works as For a local authority and is based in a council building that shares its grounds with other facilities such as a council. They have recently installed a parking eye and my wife was asked for her registration details and told to continue parking at work.

However, I have today reciedved a pcn (I am the registered keeper) from Gemini Parking solutions for parking dating back to 10/11/16 - I am now worried that I will receive more for the dates after this.

I have read through the sticky thread which was really useful but wondered if anyone had any further advice on how to reply? My wife, will of course speak to someone at work regarding this too, but I'm not sure whether I should also respond to this notice and if so, how to go about doing so 🤔

Apologies if this seems a daft question but any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

if its GEMINI then its not Parking Eye

it may be that they have installed ANPR cameras, if that is what you are referring to

the first job you do as RK is determine which ATA teh PPC is a member of , BPA or IPC

then you follow the advice in the NEWBIES sticky thread for the ATA they are with, sending either the BPA template or the IPC template, it is that simple

most companies will reject any appeal out of hand, so it is at the second stage you decide what to do , POPLA if its offered , ignore if its the IAS

so not complicated so far , but the devil is in the detail , due to there being 2 systems

the wife should be complaining to the HR at work and insisting these are cancelled and any more are also cancelled as the VRM should have been placed on a whitelist

the NEWBIES sticky thread does say that a landholder cancellation is always best and should always be tried

in the meantime , only a fool would ignore an NTK if they are located in england or wales , due to POFA2012

hi and welcome to the forum ....

"They have recently installed a parking eye"

no they haven't .... they have installed ANPR ;)

"My wife, will of course speak to someone at work regarding this"

good, be calm but forceful , also ask who owns the land?

" but I'm not sure whether I should also respond to this notice and if so, how to go about doing so"

if you re read the newbies thread you will see the template to use

I think they are part of the BPA

and if so read up as to when you should send the appeal (important)

AND most importantly make sure you do not disclose who is driving when doing so (use the template as is)

    Missing far too many details.

    What is supposed contravention?
Has your wife permission from landowner to park there?
Is there an arrangement with her company and landowner?
So far, you have come to the Doctor and said "I am ill. Give me a remedy" but not told Doctor any of the symptoms. E X P A N D, please.

Thanks for that. The situation has changed, somewhat, since I first described it - my wife should have been parking in a different part of the car park - which to get to she wold have driven through a second ANPR camera, which would have been classed as 'leaving' the first part of the car park and resulted in her not getting a ticket. However, she has complained at work and they have contacted the landowner (a leisure facility) who have said they will contact Gemini and ask for this and subsequent tickets to be cancelled.

My plan now is to still follow the template procedure on the newbie thread using the BPA template (who they are a member of), just in case the landowner does not follow through on his commitment to cancel the charge.

    Thanks for your help.

Thanks for that Ralph - I've responded above - and hopefully I can resolve the matter.

    Thanks for that.

The supposed contravention is "a breach of the terms of parking", according to the NTK - my wife was parked there for more than a 3 hour limit.

There is an arrangement with her employer and the landowner, as outline in my reply above . However, my wife did not realise she had to go through another ANPR camera, into a different area of the car park. As I've said above her employer has contacted the landowner who has said they will cancel the charges - however, she has nothing in writing.

Apologies for my lack of detail in my original post - I think I was in a state of panic as I am expecting roughly another 10 of these notices
