Are they any good or does it really have to be ducted? Do unvented cooker hoods filter out cooking fumes or just blow them around the room ?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Recirculating hoods have filters which take some of the particulates out of the steam, etc., but yes, they basically just redistribute around the room0

There are two uses for unvented hoods
One is to remove smells. If they have a carbon filter then yes it will work, but some have tiny crap filters, some might have good ones?
The second is to remove grease. Many can be fitted with grease paper which absorbs some of it, so if you do a lot of fatty cooking it might be worth it.
Also they look shiny.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
They are about 20% as effective as vented out. They pass the air through a grease filter and then a charcoal filter which removes some smells. You have to replace the charcoal filter every 3 - 6 months. The biggest problem is they don't vent out the steam and water vapor. Do whatever you can to vent it out, we often have to go up into the ceiling to get to an outside wall.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0
