Even if your sat-nav does show speed limits you can't really rely on that info in case the data is incorrect. I have a TomTom GO 6100 with 'free for life' map and traffic camera updates which I find excellent.
Even if you don't own a TomTom the TomTom MyDrive live traffic map is very useful.... DaveHappily retired and enjoying my 14th year of leisureI am cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.Bring me sunshine in your smile0 -

If you've got a decent sized smartphone, have you considered using that with Google Maps' navigator? It does everything I need it to and is very good for finding specific locations, venues etc. if they already have a presence on Google.
I'm not sure how it does for traffic information - not something I've looked into, but I don't need to use it often enough.
Google maps does inform you of any delays on your route eg lane closed on the motorway via voice and it shows you any roadworks on the route (can be hit and miss as I didnt see any r/works earlier today.0 -

The Go Pilot phone app does speed limits.
Shouldnt really rely on it to tell you the limits, just use the signs0 -

A good smart phone, google drive and the free tom tom speed cameras app running in the background and you have a great system.I do Contracts, all day every day.0
